- Description
Summer Camp is a weeklong camp during the summer months run by three SWE Co-Chairs. The camp targets middle school girls and introduces them to sciences, math, and engineering. The co-chairs organize field trips, tours of laboratory facilities, team building activities, and presentations from leading researchers & industry leaders, to let the girls know that engineering isn’t just old men spending long hours in an office, but a vibrant career option that can take them from working for a cosmetics company designing the next top perfume to outer space. However, most importantly the co-chairs along with the counselors (the helpers) provide the campers with a female role model who is pursuing a degree in engineering.
